Озабоченность по поводу воздействия медианасилия была и остается одним из
основных факторов, определяющих политику государства. Полемика вокруг про-
блемы прошла несколько этапов. Одна из последних принятых государством мер -
Акт о телекоммуникациях от 1996 года, который обязывает производителей устанав-

ливать блокирующие телесигнал К-чипы на новых моделях телевизоров; а также тре-
бует, чтобы телекомпании присваивали фильмам категории, показывающие их при-
емлемость для определенных возрастных групп.
